Exciting news for three NSW Swifts players, Kimberlee Green, Sharni Layton and Caitlin Thwaites have been selected in the 2014 Australian Commonwealth Games Netball Team. The three girls have worked extremely hard over the past years and have finally achieved their goal. Wright is very pleased with his players, and it is also a very proud moment for the club itself.
Unfortunately 2013 Australian Diamonds squad member Susan Pratley has missed out on selection in this team. "Im naturally disappointed for Susan, she has put in a huge amount of work into all aspects of her game during the off-season and that showed during her performance for us this year," said Wright, the current NSW Swifts coach.
The girls returned back to Sydney on Wednesday 7th May to continue preparations for their Round 11 ANZ Championships game against the West Coast Fever on Monday night in Perth.
The Australian Commonwealth Games netball team will return to Canberra for a camp at the end of June before departing for a pre-game training camp in Manchester, England where the team will put the finishing touches on its preparations for Glasgow 2014.
